Assigned Entry #6 Behind the blogs.

Blogging is actually fun. I enjoyed being able to express my thoughts and be me and say the things that I want to say without thinking that I may be getting a pourer grade by writing the way I am thinking about a certain subject. But lets be honest, my blog is so far from good. I do not really understand how to work and be a blogger of intelligent structure and making a page humorous without being a complete goof.
This is what I look like when I am blogging. Just snickering to myself..
Having that said, blogging was intriguing. I really enjoyed being able to express thoughts and know class mates got to read my stuff. That in itself was exciting and something new that I have never got to experience in a class before. It helped me in my grieving process with the death of my friend. I was able to scream my thoughts onto the page and the comment from my classmate really helped and brought joy into my heart. I really appreciate being able to post that and getting honest and genuine responses from a classmate that truly cared and knows what I am going through.

Although I posted the blogs last minute and poor quality, I really enjoyed and liked being able to have the chance to post the blogs and comment on friends in my class blog. If there was one thing that I would take back it would be the opportunity to take the time to succeed and produce good quality post. I want to believe that I took it seriously, but I know I did not take it seriously enough. Which I completely regret and wish I had a do over.
This experience has really opened doors for me. Though I know what you are looking for when you say "learn anything" I just want to say what in my life has changed because of the blogging. After posting the blog about my friend I felt at peace, comfortable and happy that I was able to express my thoughts. Even though no one read it I felt free from the things and hurt that were driving me to the ground. So I started a journal. And no not a diary of thoughts about who I like or girly things seen in the movies but a journal to express to myself how I feel. What steps I need to over come the things that are dragging me down. It has really helped me and I wish I came to that realization sooner.
I loved being able to blog. By far this was one of the best assignments I have ever had and I am thankful for it. Please do not get rid of the blog assignment because it was seriously so fun being able to think creatively and be goofy with it. It was a really fun assignment Professor Murphy and I just wanted to say thank you for all your patience and help throughout the semester.
This is the end of the Blog. Meaning the class is over which is a haunting thought, but blogging, and in class discussion was so fun. Thanks for a fun year and really helping out through the rough times!
Peace Out!

Entry #5 Pink Slime

This was revolting. Even though I said in the previous post about Food Inc. that I did not care about the way things were produced and looked at in the food world, this video really opened up my eyes to how disgusting and how careless the employers and producers of the beef industry are. They are so much more concerned about them saving a buck than they are for the health of others and really caring about human lives.

Eccoli and salmonella that are ground into the beef are causes of death in the United States. There have been huge product recalls with beef that have been contaminated with these deceases but still there is no answer to why and how they are going to reduce these outbreaks and come up with a plan to over come all of these horrible accidents with young kids dying.

This video has brought up the memory of the food inc. video and the mother that lost her son due to this exact issue. These things "pink slime" should not be allowed in stores and should actually be illegal. I understand that the business is a business and they are trying to make a quick buck, but a dollar in comparison to a human life is drastic. I know that if i was responsible for the death of an infant or a young kid, or anyone for a matter of fact would cause me to feel responsible and sick to my stomach. I would take action for a change and with this I feel like nothing is being said and it's astonishing and aggravating that this is happening with out any repercussions.

We need to make a stand for our health and the well being of others and demand healthy food and ask for a healthier choice for us to eat. We should be the boss instead of the businesses forcing us to eat what they produce no matter what, even if it is terrible and bad for our bodies.

PDJ

In my human development class we were asked to look at our lives, a Personal Death Journal. In this we got asked deep questions that ultimately made you think about life and how unregretful it is towards you.  Now I know thats not a word, but thats exactly what I mean. No matter what happens life is not going to make things right or okay, that is up to you.

I love this quote, I do not know who it is by, but it really gets to me,
"10% of life is what happens to you, 90% is how you react to it."

So this post will be on how I answered some of the questions. and how I feel..

The one question that stuck out to me was, "If you die before you have the chance to watch your son grow up, do you have anything for them to hold onto, and cherish? So I wrote a letter, and am going to share it with you all.

"Dear Son, I know that this letter is something I never wished to write. I have only known you for a couple months but know that I love you more than you could ever imagine loving someone. My son, This life: know that it is precious. You've got to grasp at every little whiff of it that passes by you. It won't be easy. It won't be certain. Not now and not in your unimaginable future. Don't be surprised--No, embrace the stiff winds and the lonely heights. Remember your name. Never turn away from the right course because it's hard. And above all, love. Scrape out the bottom of your soul and love for all your worth. And when you find her, risk everything. Die a thousand deaths to get her. And don't look back. And when you're older, older than I'll ever be, blow on the embers of that first heroic choice and you will be warmed and sustained. And someday, you'll have a son. And remember that he is your greatest gift. Tell him these things. Make a man of him. Love him. Don't live to get money. Have a few things but make them good things. Take care of them and learn how they work. There's beauty in the smell of a good machine and old leather."

life.... Meaningless, absolutely Meaningless.

The last 4 weeks of my life have been Hell. Literal hell. And throughout this time I have one important thing, Life is Meaningless, nothing is important, truly, the people of this world are cruel, deceptive, rude, self-boasting and constantly trying to bring other down to find some fulfillment in there own personal depression. There are good things in life don't get me wrong, friends, family, loved owns, and having kids. But if you don't have faith in something or believe that there is something greater than ourselves, what is this all about, why is life so important to us and why do we care about the little things?
Those are just some questions that I have come to consider in my time of turmoil and liquidation of sense of self.
You may know some snippets of what has happened to me the last couple weeks, but lets get deeper.
First I got ran over on the highway while on my motorcycle. I tumbled about 200 feet and ended up with severe 3rd degree burns pretty much everywhere you could possibly imagine. My hands suffered the worse of it, stripping all my skin down to the muscle. My chest and legs we burned as well as my fore arms, but my hands is the only part of my body that needed skin grafts. My medical insurance decided to cover me(Thank the Lord) but my motorcycle insurance is a different story. 3 cases have opened up investigating the crash. Since the liable car that caused the accident fled the scene, I am now the main suspect for liability even though the fault, and 5 witness statements clearly stated I was not at fault. But lets not talk about that, because to me, that is the least of my worries, even though I'm already in debt from school, which is extremely hard to keep up with having 6 classes and being gone 4 weeks due to surgeries and medical problems.
My Best friend since I second grade passed away. I watched him for 2 years battle cancer and watched him decay away. But not once was he not thankful or at peace. Not once did he complain. Not once did he worry about tomorrow or the fact he may never marry or have kids, but that he was alive. And he died. One of the most encouraging, loving, thankful people to ever walk this earth died. Maybe it's the fact he is not here anymore, the fact we can't talk or give each other advice, or the fact we can't share memories or even discuss the name of the girl I like, I think its the fact that while I was in the hospital getting surgery, he slipped, and I couldn't say goodbye, to the one person besides my family who gets me.
I'm done with this post. But know, even though I'm smiling, and happy and excited. Deep down I'm not okay.

Entry #4 Food Inc

Food Inc. really got me thinking and curious about everything that is going on with the food industry. So I did a little bit of my own reading and deep thought into the obvious controversy of cheap food and the injection of steroids into there system..

Truth be told, even though the drugs are bad for our system, by causing obesity in mass doses of the food with engulf, it is actually good for us. It is hard to explain, but I will try to explain this my best.

-If you took someone from our day in age who eats a lot of the food we have produced with HGH injected to it and put them back 50 years ago when produce was all natural and there was little processing involved, and they hard to start eating the food they produce, they would start to get sick and get symptoms of headaches and stomach issues that could be fatal
- And vice versa, If a farmer that ate good produce 50 years ago and came to our time and just started eating our food, they would get extremely sick and pass away due to an extreme change in diet.

I work work out and keep a calorie count to make sure that I am not over eating, though when I was in my prime with swim I polish off about 12,000 calories a day but still, its about diet and intake that keeps you healthy. So the fact that they inject drugs and cause foods to be extremely fattening that doesn't bother me because we have choice and the chance to make sure that does not happen. but what the video opened my eyes too was the disgusting way the employers ran there business.

They treated the workers in humility and ran over them likes slaves, causing them to work in horrific conditions. also the fact that they sold there illegal workers out and got them arrested is insanely corrupt. Food Inc. did not cover much on the subject but I believe there should be an investigation on the police and employers who are involved in this fraud.

Entry #3 Wall-E

Even though we are far from our society becoming this way that does not mean people are not already like this. And this concerns me. This video really showed the true colors of hour a good chunk of people act in America today. We say we want shade and shade is provided for us, we want food but we are too lazy to make our own meals so we buy from dollar menus in a drive though. It is a disgusting life style but that is how we live. We live in the moment and not for the lifetime that we have. Yes I agree that times is precious and every moment counts but the obesity rate and the way things are going for American people we are getting less moments.. We say that we do not have time to make a meal now or to do things as families but in reality we are shortening our lives by the intake of food we have. Another point that this clip hit on was the reliance of technology people have. They act like talking through a headset to other gamers or chatting on face time is quality time, but it isn't. Being together as people and going out and being adventurous is extremely important and being fit and healthy increases your chance to having kids and having more of those life moments that we so desire and crave.

Awkward Moments.

I'm not going to lie, I am one of the most awkward people you will ever meet. I am super strange and have a tendency to make strange noises. (probably because I am a descendent of dolphins).

Why do people have to be so dang weird. I do not understand this whole online dating experience. If i think a girl is cute or I have interest in her, I will ask her out and pick her up. Never, EVER will i text a girl to go out on a date and once I have asked her I wont have pointless conversation over text with that girl. ( Please do not think that I am arrogant or a pig hitting on girls, just trying to get a point across)

-First Reason why I do not text girls after I ask them out.
Thats why I asked you out on a date, to talk to you in person....
   Self explanatory.
-Second Reason why I do not text a girl I like.
If you a constantly texting someone that you like but do not have much face time with them you, you become comfortable over text and messaging, and when you meet in person, it becomes awkward and very hard to communicate, because you are so used to communicating in a way that is un personal. (is that a word?)

My friend on the other hand does not have this logic and fell to this trouble.
My friend thought it would be a brilliant idea to start a relationship with a girl who he did not meet and only knows through instagram. Two things wrong here, first I need to find new friends, and second CREEEEEEEP. Girls if a guy you have not met asks you out over an instagram pic, respectfully decline, that is just creepy and a waste of time. Well anyways on this date they said very few words.. And those words were spoken to the waiter. Now when my friend told me this, I was uncomfortable and I hope this never happens to me... Ever.
